The Mobile Cardiovascular Unit is made possible through the generous support of donors and the Baptist Health Foundation. The Unit expands access for underserved and rural populations who have limited availability of cardiovascular testing or specialists.
Heart disease remains the #1 cause of death in Mississippi and the United States. Early detection dramatically improves outcomes. Many individuals with underlying cardiac risk factors never receive preventive screening due to transportation, cost, or limited access. The Mobile Cardiovascular Unit brings screening services directly into communities, expanding reach and helping reduce health inequities.
The unit offers a wide range of heart and vascular screenings across community events, health fairs, churches, rural hospitals, and corporate workplaces.
The Mobile Cardiovascular Unit serves as an extension of our comprehensive heart and vascular screening platform offered in our Baptist Heart locations in Jackson and Madison. A Dedicated Nurse Coordinator oversees testing, follow-up, community engagement, and education. Immediate feedback and follow-up recommendations help close gaps in care.
